Official pitch handover
Hybrid pitch installation in Šibenik successfully completed
HNS president Marijan Kustić, executive director Tomislav Svetina, Executive Committee member Ante Kulušić, and infrastructure manager Andrea Dokuš travelled to Šibenik for the official handover of the new hybrid pitch at Šubićevac Stadium, where they were joined by representatives of HNK Šibenik and the City of Šibenik.
The modern hybrid pitch at Šubićevac was completed after sixty days of construction, which was done by contractor Maxmar and which included the removal of the previous pitch and the installation of a new hybrid playing surface.
“Our continued investments into football infrastructure are a key pillar of growing Croatian football. I’m happy that HNS Šibenik has joined the list of Croatian clubs who have received excellent hybrid pitches, which are sure to contribute to the overall quality of the Croatian First Division. Our work on building new pitches in Croatia is proof of how committed the Croatian Football Federation is to helping our football base, because we know that they are the foundation to all of the big successes of Croatian football. I would like to thank the management of HNK Šibenik and everyone in the municipal government of the City of Šibenik for their cooperation in successfully completing this project,” said HNS president Marijan Kustić.
The pitch in Šibenik was installed as part of the HNS’s broader hybrid pitch construction project, which was funded by UEFA through their HatTrick Development Programme. During the summer break between the 2020/21 and 2021/22 seasons, a new pitch was also installed in Split, while an additional hybrid pitch is currently under construction in Varaždin. Meanwhile, Velika Gorica is set to receive a hybrid pitch next summer. As a reminder, in 2018 the HNS also built hybrid pitches in Pula, Zaprešić, Koprivnica, and at Kranjčevićeva Stadium and Maksimir Stadium in Zagreb.
