The Croatian Football Federation has deposited the first installment of its financial aid package for women’s football clubs, which will receive a total of 3.5 million HRK over a year-long period.
In cooperation with FIFA and with funding from the FIFA Forward Programme, the Croatian Football Federation (HNS) will invest 3.5 million Croatian kunas into women’s football development during the next year.
The funds will be used to help finance the national leagues for women’s U-15 and U-17 national teams. Both of these competitions were initiated during the previous season, and have now successfully gone into their second seasons. In addition to this, the funding is also meant to support women’s clubs in their daily work and help them in growing the women’s game.
"Encouraging participation in football among young girls and raising the quality of women’s football in Croatia are both among the Croatian Football Federation’s goals for the coming years. Initiating the organization of women’s U-15 and U-17 national leagues was an important step forward for women’s football in Croatia, and we’ll continue to track this project and its long-term impact on improving the quality of the Women’s First Division and on our own national teams. The HNS fully stands behind this project and we’ll continue working with FIFA to ensure that our women’s clubs and our female players have higher quality development conditions,” said HNS president Marijan Kustić.
