Croatian Football Federation president Davor Šuker visited George Best resting place in Belfast, honouring the footballing icon of Northern Ireland.

As Croatia awaits the Northern Ireland friendly match at Windsor Park, Croatian Football Federation delegation led by president Davor Šuker visited the Roselawn Cemetery and the resting place of legendary George Best, famous Northern Ireland striker and one of the best players of his time.

George Best played for Manchester United for over ten years, won the European Cup, and later took on challenges in the United States. He has 37 caps and nine goals for his country.

Numerous polls and award selections included Best in the all-time greats, with the Belfast airport being renamed after him.

His dribbling abilities, goals, speed and agility brought Best comparisons with both Pele and Maradona, and many called him a football genius. Northern Ireland has no doubt who is the greatest player ever to wear the national team jersey. Born in Belfast, George Best died in November 2005, aged 59.
