Šuker: "Congratulations to Čeferin, best of luck and a lot of success"

Today in Athens, at the Extraordinary UEFA Congress, Slovenian Football Federation president Aleksander Čeferin was elected as the seventh UEFA president. 

"Congratulation to Mr. Čeferin for winning the elections. We have started to back him early, together with 12 other member associations from Southeast Europe, and I believe that this has also given strong support to his campaign ending with this convincing result", said Croatian Football Federation president Davor Šuker.

"At previous regional meetings, we became assured that we share similar views towards the development of football in Europe, and I have no doubt that we can achieve excellent cooperation through UEFA Executive Committee as well. Čeferin's clear win confirms that majority of member associations believe he can protect and develop football, and I wish him the best of luck and a lot of success. He can always count on my strong support referring to UEFA Executive Committee, and of cours, on the support of Croatian Football Federation, which he enjoyed from the beginning of his campaign", added Šuker.
