The Croatian Football Federation will donate a total of one million HRK (130 000 EUR) to five Croatian hospitals in order to help the efforts to curb the epidemic of SARS-CoV-2.
At the recommendation of HNS President Davor Šuker, the Executive Committee of the Croatian Football Federation has decided that HNS will donate a total of one million HRK for the purchase of medical equipment and supplies. The funds will go to the Infections Diseases Center in Zagreb, University Hospital Centers in Split, Osijek, and Rijeka, and the Pula General Hospital.
“Though football has suffered a large negative financial effect due to the current epidemic, we consider that solidarity and social responsibility are extremely important at this time, which is why we have decided to make this donation. We believe these funds, which will go directly to five hospitals, will help our excellent healthcare professionals and their patients, which is our number one priority right now. We’re looking forward to the moment when football stadia and pitches will reopen, but until then, we urge everyone to act responsibly, stay at home, and respect all safety measures that are issued by health institutions,” said Šuker of the donation.
