Competition calendar and licensing updates

As per the recommendations of UEFA, the management of the Croatian Football Federation has carefully considered all options so as to ensure the successful completion of this competitive season. Because the outcome and duration of the current coronavirus epidemic is impossible to predict, the Executive Committee’s decision proposes three different versions of the competition calendar for the Croatian First Division, the Croatian Second Division and the Croatian Cup. HNS has updated the Central State Office for Sport on this development of events, and they have confirmed their approval.

The Executive Committee will decide on which of the three proposed versions of the remedied calendar will be applied at a future date, as this decision is contingent on how the epidemic in Croatia will develop.

The following deadlines for the announcement of the selected changes to the calendar have been set:

Option 1

Start date for the First Division: May 16, 2020
Start date for the Second Division: May 23, 2020
End date for the First and Second Division: July 18, 2020
Announcement deadline: April 20, 2020

Option 2

Start date for the First and Second Division: May 30, 2020
End date for the First and Second Division: July 25, 2020
Announcement deadline: May 4, 2020

Option 3

Start date for the First and Second Division: June 13, 2020
End date for the First Division: August 2, 2020
End date for the Second Division: August 1, 2020
Announcement deadline: May 18, 2020

Additionally, the Executive Committee has followed UEFA’s recommendations and extended all deadlines related to the licensing process, which has resulted in changes to the HNS Club Licensing Regulations. New deadlines have been set for the following dates:

First-instance decision: May 15, 2020
Delivery deadline for first-instance decisions: May 20, 2020
Appeal deadline: May 28, 2020
Final decision deadline (license issued): by June 15, 2020
Final decision deadline (license denied): by June 15, 2020
Delivery of a list of all applicants who have received a license: by June 20, 2020

Finally, as per UEFA’s recommendations, criterion F.05 (future financial information, as defined in Articles 35-40 of the Regulations) will not be applied in this year’s licensing process.
