"I am very pleased with this meeting with our dear friend Ambassador Mor, and I would like to thank him for his kind words and the respect he has shown towards Croatian football. We will continue the tradition of close relations between two friendly nations and we will talk even more concretely about our cooperation at our next meeting," said HNS president Davor Šuker.
Ambassador Mor received a jersey of the world vice-champions with the number 9 from Šuker. HNS's Israeli guest was especially impressed by the Golden Boot, which Šuker had won at the 1998 FIFA World Cup.
"I am thrilled to have had the opportunity to sit down with a football legend - Davor is known everywhere in the world, from Los Angeles to China. Football tears down the walls of hate, builds bridges, and promotes friendship between nations. We talked about a possible friendly match between Croatia and Israel, and I believe Davor will visit us soon and share his experiences and knowledge with us. Israel can learn a lot from Croatia, which may be a small country, but is a great football nation," said Ambassador Mor.
