"I am disappointed that a worldwide distinguished media such as La Gazzetta dello Sport is the source of such a misinformation, a typical case of 'false notizie', usually placed by less respectable media searching for a sensation. I can say only that Zlatko Dalić is Croatia manager and that all of us remain focused to the Greece encounters in FIFA World Cup play-offs".

"We are used to the fact that the most of Croatian media hurry to convey these false news - any news that aims to destabilize or diminish Croatian Football Federation gets significant media space. Unfortunately, this is nothing new, but we will continue to work in the best interest of Croatian football. Therefore, as we await these decisive matches, I call upon everyone to show unity, and upon media to stay objective and truthful", said HNS president Davor Šuker.
